What you are buying? When you buy Life’s TraVails, you will be buying a Delaware-based corporation, which owns the boat. The biggest advantage to this is the boat is insured through the corporation. And since this policy has been in place for over 10 years, it is “grandfathered” into an older, and lower, rate structure. Plus, since the policy has a “disappearing deductible program,” and as there have been no claims for over 10 years, there is a zero deductible in place (unless the damage is from a named storm). Depending on your personal situation, there may be property and/or sales tax savings advantages as well.
The boat you buy will be cruise-ready. All boating and safety equipment is current and ready to go (unless noted). The galley is stocked with pot, pans, silverware, dishes, mixing bowls, cutting board, etc. Bedding and towels are included, as are many cleaning supplies. The engine room has a complete set of tools with an abundant supply of spare parts on board. The bottom had the blisters filled and painted in September 2019 along with new varnish on the teak handrails. For the most part, all you would need are your clothes, toiletries, and food before you head off on your new adventure. While not licensed captains, if desired we will spend time with you after the sale to teach you about the boat and its systems. For details and pictures, visit the Walk Through page and the Equipment List.
Where are we? That is a very good question. Our plan is to continue cruising until the boat sells. But there will be multiple ways to find us. We will try to keep this site up to date as to where we are, or you can search for us on the Nebo app. If you are interested, please contact us through this site, via email at Boat@Lifestravails.com, or just pick up the phone and do it the old-fashioned way and call us at (602) 312-5798. At this point, the plan is to be in Marathon, FL until the first of April, then to the Bahamas for about 6 weeks, and who knows after that!
Why we are selling? We bought Life’s TraVails to do the Great Loop. Our initial plan was to buy the boat, do the Great Loop, sell the boat. We bought her in 2015, completed the Loop in 2016, but loved it and just weren’t ready to give up cruising. We fell in love with Canada and wanted to cruise the northern waters again, which we did in the summer of 2019. The boat is now back south and we are ready to move on to the next chapter of our lives.
* Fine print: Life’s TraVails is for sale by owner. If you want to involve a broker, it will be at your expense. Brokers need not contact us unless your buyer has agreed to pay your commission fees. As per usual, the buyer will pay all survey-related expenses.
